Romania looks to buy the Puma IFV as Agilis project alternative
Romania is considering the procurement of up to 173 Puma IFVs as an alternative of the project for co-developing and co-producing the Agilis family of wheeled combat vehicles together with Germany’s Rheinmetall.
This was revealed by the Romanian defence minister, Gabriel Leş, during a press-conference held in Bucharest in April 2019. In addition, he claimed that the Romanian military needs both 8x8 amphibious combat vehicles. The final procurement decision, according to him, has not been taken yet.
