Rheinmetall announces ammo order
Rheinmetall has been awarded an order worth around $21.73 million for practice tank ammunition by an undisclosed international customer, it announced on 6 November.
Under the order, the company will deliver two lots of DM78A1 and DM78A3 subcalibre practice ammunition between 2016-2018.
The DM78 is a 120mm x 570 round based that can be safely fired in the same climatic zones as the DM63 KE service round.
Erosion is negligible with the DM78's low pressure level, and the round is usable in any tank range that meets the safety requirements for the previous DM38 family and the DM48 ammunition.
