Dagger PVP proves ballistic protection
The Dagger small protected vehicle (PVP) by Panhard General Defense has demonstrated its ballistic protection in recent operations, Renault Trucks announced on 2 September.
According to Renault Trucks, the vehicle was exposed to mine blasts on two occasions during the Barkhane operation in March 2015. Additionally, PVPs operated by the Chilean police were exposed to direct intense firing in an ambush in June 2015. In all three events, the vehicle crew remained protected.
The Dagger is a 4x4, 5.5-tonne light armoured liaison/command vehicle with high mass efficiency composite armour. It is can be used as a light armoured personnel carrier or a homeland security vehicle.
The French army and other countries in South America, Africa and Europe currently operate over 1,200 Dagger PVPs.
