Raytheon to continue TOW production
Raytheon has received a $129.9 million contract modification from the US Army to continue production of the TOW weapon system, the company announced on 12 June.
The award is a modification to Raytheon's existing $320 million production contract.
The anti-armour, anti-fortification weapon system, along with the multi-mission TOW 2A , TOW 2B and TOW Bunker Buster missiles, is a long-range precision, heavy anti-tank and assault weapon system designed to defeat all types of armour.
The tube-launched, optically-tracked, wireless-guided TOW missiles counter battlefield threats and give ground forces an advantage against armoured and wheeled systems, regardless of the environment or conditions.
