South Korea boosts efficiency of its artillery

More ammunition resupply vehicles, 8x8 command vehicles, unmanned artillery platforms and tactical surface-to-surface missiles are all on their way in South Korea.

By the end of last year, the Republic of Korea Army (ROKA) had received the third batch of K56 ammunition resupply vehicles from Hanwha Defense, and two more batches are expected before production ceases in 2025.

The K56 pairs with the K55A1 155mm SPH, which is essentially a licence-built M109. Development of the K56 was completed by October 2011, and it is the analogue of the K10, an ammunition resupply vehicle for the K9 Thunder 155mm SPH. Production of the K9 and K10 ceased in 2019.

The Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) said that the K56 shares 45.7%
