Russia foresees twin-chassis replacement for Armata
Russian military scientists envisage the development of a twin-chassis (articulated) MBT, having displayed a conceptual design during the Army 2020 exhibition near Moscow.
‘Russia has to lay the foundation for the development of the future main battle tank right now,’ specialists from the 38th Research Test Institute for Armoured Equipment said on 25 August.
In their opinion (as reported by state-run news agency TASS) the new MBT is needed to replace T-14 Armatas from the 2040s onward.
