Portuguese Army seeks to enhance CBRN capacities
In order to maintain its readiness against CBRN threats, the Portuguese Army has defined its short-, medium- and long-term priorities for the development and acquisition of CBRN equipment, systems and technology.
Army spokesperson Lt Col Ana Silva confirmed to Shephard that the army is focusing in the short term on purchasing equipment for the CBRN Defence Company (CDefNBQR) and the Military Laboratory Unit for Biological and Chemical Defence (UMLDBQ).
However, the army did not disclose details about the budget of these and other CBRN-related acquisition and development programmes.
In terms of the CDefNBQR, the Portuguese Army intends to strengthen its capacity
