IAI markets EO sensor to detect gunfire
Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) is marketing a compact sensor that brings improved technology to detect gunfire. ELO-5220P Othello is an optical threat locator that provides precise information and reduces the number of false alerts.
The sensor can pinpoint the exact location of incoming gunfire, mortars, rocket-propelled grenades and anti-tank missiles. It instantly indicates the azimuth and elevation direction of hostile fire while classifying the threat, with a high probability of detection and low false alarm rate, according to IAI.
Vadim Loev, marketing manager of the combat team directorate in the IAI land systems division, told Shephard that EO technology in ELO-5220P Othello delivers
