First South Korean vehicles await RWS
Both the Republic of Korea Army (ROKA) and ROK Marine Corps (ROKMC) are to start adding an RWS to some of their armoured vehicle platforms, with the Korea Amphibious Assault Vehicle (KAAV) of the ROKMC designated the first platform to receive them.
The KAAV, a license-built version of the AAV7A1 made by Samsung Techwin (now Hanwha Defense), currently uses a manned turret consisting of a K6 12.7mm machine gun (with 200 ready rounds), K4 40mm automatic grenade launcher (with 48 rounds) and two banks of 66mm smoke grenades.
