FFG unveils fully hybrid Genesis vehicle
German company Flensburger Fahrzeugbau Gesellschaft (FFG) has developed a full hybrid technology 8x8 armoured vehicle demonstrator.
The Genesis vehicle would have been unveiled during the Eurosatory 2020 exhibition, scheduled for June in Paris, but the COVID-19 pandemic means it was only displayed for the first time in late September.
A spokesperson for FFG told Shephard that Genesis brings advantages in terms of mobility and stealth, including a low thermal signature, silent drive and even the capability to be driven submerged without needing an external air supply.
The 8x8 vehicle has a modular design with full hybrid drive, with individual wheel speed
