CATV tender looms on the horizon
A tender under the Collaborative All-Terrain Vehicle (CATV) programme is expected to be released in 2021. Cross-border collaboration is intended to secure greater commonality at reduced costs, as well as deliver economies of scale in production.
Progress is expected this year on the Collaborative All-Terrain Vehicle (CATV) programme, with a tender due to be released so that Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands and the UK can pursue a common acquisition.
A spokesperson for German defence procurement agency BAAINBw explained to Shephard that the first project arrangement for the CATV was signed on 20 November 2020, and the goal is to undertake tendering activity for the common procurement in 2021.
Although Stockholm is still analysing its participation in the acquisition process, the four countries harmonised user requirements in 2020 and deliveries are expected from 2024.
