Philippines inaugurates rocket, missile and aviation units
The Philippine Army activated three new units at Fort Magsaysay on 3 October, symbolising the growing capabilities and aspirations of the service. They included rocket launcher, missile system and aviation units.
The combined inaugurations were officiated by the Philippine Army’s Commanding General Lt Gen Macairog S. Alberto.
In a press release, the army commented, ‘The activation of the said units aims to strengthen army defence against current, emerging and future threats. These units will play a vital role in the army’s fight against terrorism and the communist insurgency.’
