Orbital ATK announces ammunition orders
Orbital ATK has received orders worth $92 million from the US Army to manufacture small-calibre ammunition, the company announced on 10 April.
The orders, which fall under an existing supply contract, include 5.56mm and 7.62mm ammunition.
The ammunition will be produced at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant (Lake City) in Independence, Missouri. The company and the US Army have integrated significant upgrades at the facility to enhance product quality and performance, efficiency and operational improvements for safety and environmental stewardship.
