Nexter presents first Aravis to Gabon
Nexter Systems has presented the first Aravis infantry mobility vehicle in peacekeeping configuration to the Gabon defence forces, the company announced on 16 June.
The vehicle was presented to Ernest Mpouho Epigat, Minister of Defence of Gabon, fitted with remotely operated 20mm ARX 20 turrets, NERVA LG reconnaissance mini-robots and PG-Guard anti-RPG protection system.
From the autumn of 2015, the Aravis vehicles will equip the Gabonese battalion deployed as part of the United Nations MINUSCA mission in the Central African Republic.
The Aravis is one of several Nexter Systems vehicles engaged in UN peacekeeping missions, such as the VBCI, Leclerc and Caesar, all three of which are deployed by French forces in Lebanon.
