Nammo extends strategic partnership with Finnish military
Nammo and the Finnish Defense Forces (FDF) have built on their existing relationship with a new long-term strategic partnership, signed on 9 December during a ceremony at Finnish Defense Command in Helsinki.
The partnership is worth an estimated €20 million ($24.23 million) per year and will remain in force until further notice, Nammo noted in a statement.
In particular, Nammo will help the FDF to manage the full supply chain for ammunition.
The Finnish Minister of Defence approved the new agreement on 20 November. It continues the security of supply agreement between the FDF and Nammo, which was signed in 2014.
‘This Strategic Partnership Agreement strengthens and supports Nammo Lapua Oy’s position as a major player in domestic security of supply,’ said Raimo Helasmäki, managing director of Nammo.
‘Our domestic ammunition and propellants industry still has a significant part to play in our security of supply,’ noted Lt Gen Timo Kakkola, FDF Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics and Armaments.
