MSPO 2016: Poland increases firepower

Orbital ATK is supporting the Polish military integrate a 40mm cannon onto the country's armoured vehicles to give Warsaw a capability to overpower potential rivals.

A spokesperson told Shephard that ATK was working with ‘several’ domestic Polish companies ‘supporting them with the design of new turrets to integrate Mk44 cannons capable of firing 40mm'.

More than 300 of these cannon are already fielded with the Polish military on their Rosomak 8x8 armoured vehicles. The Polish company, formerly WZM but now called Rosomak, is building the vehicle in different variants, some of which will have the turrets.
