Middle East customer orders Cubic CTCs
Cubic has been awarded a contract worth $65 million from an unnamed Middle East army customer for two Combat Training Centers (CTCs), the company announced on 24 February.
The CTCs will include US Army versions of I-MILES Tactical Vehicle System (I-MILES TVS), Instrumented-Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System Individual Weapon Systems (I-MILES IWS) and the TVS adapter kit to enable simulation of combat vehicles. This technology will enhance the customer's training capability by providing Tactical Engagement Simulation (TES) systems, and an advanced data collection system for video, voice and other training data that is not currently available in the region.
The new contract will also see Cubic manage and support the logistics of the CTCs for three years after their installation and acceptance by the customer. The company will provide on-site staff to help develop and manage exercises, facilitate after-action reviews and provide immediate assistance for hardware and software management.
I-MILES IWS uses laser emitters that attach to military weapons and on-body sensors to replicate combat and records data for later review. I-MILES TVS, the vehicular adaptation of Cubic’s man-worn individual weapons system, features tactical vehicles with lasers, sensors and electronics and Cubic’s 'Shooter' CVS kit.
Cubic's CTC solutions enable commanders and soldiers to rehearse combat skills in a live battlefield setting. These devices are used during live force-on-force training, and provide critical real-time digital, audio and video data feedback. Cubic’s MILES solutions enable small and large group training. The systems are also compatible with legacy equipment.
