MBDA prepares to ship MPCVs
MBDA has completed factory acceptance tests and integration work on the first batch of Multi-Purpose Combat Vehicles (MPCVs) for export.
The company announced the milestone on 17 November and said that following completion of work at it Bourges facility, the vehicles will be shipped to an undisclosed customer by the end of the year.
The contract for the vehicles was first announced in February 2011, with a company spokesperson only admitting that the customer is based ‘in the Gulf region’.
The MPCVs are designed for air defence and are fitted with launchers for the Mistral 2 short-range air defence missile.
