Lockheed Martin was awarded a contract to provide critical operations planning, training and resource support services to soldiers in the US and overseas by the US Army Forces Command.

Through the Operations, Planning, Training, and Resource Support Services (OPTARSS II) effort, Lockheed Martin will support flight operations, including airfield and unmanned aerial vehicles, deployment and reset requirements, force protection programs, mobilization planning and execution, range training, and modeling and simulation.

Lockheed Martin was one of 13 companies selected for the contract. The five-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract has a cumulative ceiling value of $2.5 billion for all contractors.

"Planning, training and logistics are critical components for mission readiness," said Carey Smith, vice president of Technical Services, Lockheed Martin Global Training and Logistics. "Lockheed Martin is proud to continue providing these affordable support services to the Army."

The company previously supported OPTARSS, the predecessor program to OPTARSS II, where it was consistently recognized for outstanding performance.
