Latvia begins trials for new tactical 4x4
Testing has begun on four platforms selected by the Latvian Ministry of Defence for phase two of the nation's acquisition of new 4x4 tactical vehicles.
The MoD announced the downselect of four vehicles on 11 May following the conclusion of phase one in February which had evaluated bids from 12 candidates.
The four contenders include Oy Sisu’s GTP 4x4, unveiled for the first time just a month ago, AM General’s High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), Paramount Group’s Marauder LAV and Otokar’s Cobra.
Testing of each of the four vehicles is to take place between 14 and 18
