LAAD 2019: M109A5+ howitzer ready for Brazilian Army
BAE Systems is showcasing the M109A5+ self-propelled howitzer at LAAD 2019 in Brazil which it will soon deliver to the Brazilian Army to meet its artillery requirements.
Final formal delivery of the howitzers, via the US Government, is slated for the first half 2019.
The company has upgraded 32 US Army excess platforms from the M109A5 to the A+ model at its primary combat vehicles facility in York, Pennsylvania. All 32 vehicles will be presented to the Brazilian Army in 2019, according to Marc Collins, VP international market creation, The Americas and Iberia, BAE Systems.
