LAAD 2017: Brazil FMS upgrades roll on
Mistaken reports of the arrival of the first upgraded M109A5+ self-propelled howitzer to the Brazilian Army have been rebuffed by manufacturer BAE Systems.
The company has stated that the first unit will arrive in 2018 and that the delivery of the M109 seen by the vehicle spotters was in fact a gun for display at LAAD 2017.
Marc Collins, VP for international market creation in the Americas and Iberia at BAE Systems, told Shephard that the company was already working on the M109A5 excess defence article vehicles in the US to meet the deadline next year.
