LAAD 2013: First SA red dot sight order for Meprolight

Israeli-sights manufacturer, Meprolight, has secured an order in South America for its MEPRO M5 red dot sight system for the first time.

Speaking at the LAAD exhibition in Rio de Janeiro, a spokesperson from the company told Shephard that the MEPRO M5 weighs less than 300g and can operate with just one AA battery offering 5,000 hours of operations.

In addition the spokesperson said that the sight has a sensor that can detect when the soldier is using the weapon or not and it can switch the sight off or on, automatically saving time and energy.
