Italy orders last batch of Centauro IIs

The Italian Secretariat of Defence Land Armaments Directorate has placed a contract with the Iveco–Oto Melara Consortium (CIO) for the final batch of 28 Centauro II (8x8) Mobile Gun Systems (MGSs) for the Italian Army. The contract also included a 10-year integrated support package.
The deal will complete the Italian Army’s requirement for a total of 150 units. The Centauro II is now in full-scale production and CIO stated it had now “delivered 16 units to the Italian Army and final deliveries will take place in 2030”.
