Indonesia receives final M109A4 SPHs

The second and final batch of M109A4 SPHs arrived on Indonesian shores on 9 July after being shipped from Belgium. The 18 howitzers were unloaded from a cargo ship at the port of Tanjung Priok in Jakarta.

It was announced in August 2016 that Belgium had agreed to sell 38 M109A4 BE vehicles to the Indonesian Army (TNI-AD). A first batch of 18 SPHs armed with 155mm guns arrived in Jakarta on 25 July 2017.

The numbers quoted in the two delivery batches actually adds up to 36 M109A4s rather than the original 38 quoted.
