Indo Defence 2018: Indonesia’s lightning missile poised for launch

Indonesian company PT Sari Bahari is displaying for the first time its prototype of the Petir missile system and the company anticipates it will be conducting operations within the next two years.

The prototype, which is currently in the research and development stage, is expected to go to market by 2020 company officials told Shephard. Petir in English means lightning.

A medium range, surface-to-surface cruise missile with a rocket assisted take-off, the missile is being developed for the Indonesian MoD, although there has been global interest in the system - this would be dependent on government negotiations, according to officials.
