I/ITSEC: Scout SV simulator contract awarded
XPI Simulation, a Thales company, has been awarded a five-year £20 million contract by General Dynamics UK for Scout Special Vehicle (SV) driver simulators, it was announced at I/ITSEC in Orlando.
XPI Simulation, which was acquired by Thales in November 2013, will provide 28 high-fidelity driver simulators which will be a mixture of static and full-motion simulators. The simulators will be used for training on all six variants of the vehicle.
The simulators will help to develop future generations of Scout SV drivers, while allowing for quantitative evaluation of driver aptitude.
This contract also marks a step towards the UK
