IDF selects Mepro combat sight
Meprolight has been selected to supply its Mepro M5 red dot sight to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the company announced on 17 November.
The company will deliver the combat sights beginning in December 2015 through to approximately late 2016.
The Mepro M5 Red-Dot Sight has a large display window and clearly-defined red dot for rapid target acquisition with both eyes open. The sight offers numerous reticle brightness intensities for the spectrum of tactical scenarios, including in harsh environmental conditions.
To facilitate night operations and long-range target engagement, the M5 is compatible with GEN II and GEN III night vision goggles (NVGs), as well as with magnifying scopes. NVGs and magnifiers may be placed close to the sight’s optics with no decrease in the field-of-view and without interfering with switch operation.
The sight uses a single AA commercial battery, with LED technology and rugged MIL-STD design.
