IDEX 2017: Intelligent features for Galix

French countermeasure experts Lacroix are in the process of adding additional capabilities to its Galix self-protection system with the integration of missile warning and laser warning sensors.

Galix provides multi-band smoke screening to protect vehicles against enemy threats and has been fitted to a number of active-service vehicles including the Leclerc main battle tank.

'We have upgraded the system so it can interface with laser-warning sensors,' said a Lacroix spokesperson. 'This laser-warning sensor is able to provide threat warning of all types of laser-guided weapons such as beam-riders as well as laser designators.'
