IDEX 2017: AMV28A takes on turret requirements

Patria's new AMV28A 8x8 vehicle variant has been developed to take a larger payload while remaining an effective amphibious platform.

A spokesperson for the company told Shephard that it is a modern variant of earlier AMV vehicles that were sold to the UAE in 2006. Those numbers could not be confirmed.

He confirmed that those vehicles had an extended hull so that they could be fitted with the turret from the BMP-3 vehicle that the UAE wants to retain in service. The new 28A design also has an extended hull but the older vehicles sold in 2006 were not as
