IDEX 2015: Tyron launches new flat tyre lubricant

New technology that will allow wheeled armoured vehicles to continue to manoeuvre with flat tyres will be launched by Tyron Runflat at IDEX 2015.

The company has developed multi-piece rubber inserts called Friction Shield that is available for its All-Terrain Rubber (ATR) runflats for wheels for armoured vehicles. 

The technology is based on a sealed lubrication system that bursts when a tyre deflates. The lubricant is contained in sealed sachets to prevent it drying out or becoming contaminated and it is it permanently attached to the runflat so that it is not forgotten when changing tyres.
