IDEX 2015: MBDA to offer air defence to Nimr
A partnership has been established between European missile manufacturer MBDA and UAE vehicle producer Nimr.
The link is part of the UAE’s strategy to partner with international companies to provide new defence capabilities.
Nimr is part of the newly-established Emirates Defence Industries Company (EDIC) that is the UAE’s integrated defence institution through which all defence transactions must now pass.
The partnership with MBDA will see the development of a short range air defence system to meet the Emirates Defence Force requirement.
The companies are proposing a new air defence system installed on Nimr’s Hafeet 6x6 640A all-terrain light armoured
