Hensoldt to supply optical units to Germany
Hensoldt has received another order from the German armed forces to supply optical units for its Future Soldier Expanded System (IdZ-ES) modernisation programme, the company announced on 7 July. The order is valued at $33 million.
The order includes the delivery of the IRV 600 A1 infrared attachment, the NSV 600 night vision attachment, the ZO 4x30 optical sight, the RSA-S reflex sight, the Spotter 60 spotting scope, and the ZF 6-24x72 telescopic sight and additional accessories.
The IRV 600 A1 infrared attachment is an uncooled, noiseless thermal imaging device. With a resolution of 640x480 pixels it enables the highest geometric resolution.
The NSV 600 night vision attachment can be used with daylight optical sights. In this way, even if there is little light left, the user benefits from the four times magnification of the ZO 4x30 basic optics.
The ZO 4x30-IdZ optical sight helps soldiers to quickly acquire targets and take aim. Its wide field of vision of 8° makes it possible to monitor a scene over a wide area.
The RSA-S red dot sight can acquire targets at close range. Weighing 100gms, this reflex sight is waterproof and resistant to shocks and vibrations.
The Spotter 60 features a Mil-dot reticle with continuously adjustable illumination; while the The 6-24x72 is a long-range telescopic scope designed to allow the user to see the click values of the top and side turrets, as well as relevant environmental conditions such as air pressure and temperature, digitally displayed in the FoV.
