Eurospike has signed a framework contract with the German procurement agency to supply Spike missiles and launchers to the German Army.

As part of the multi-year framework contract, the first order was placed for the supply of 1500 Spike rounds, as well as new Integrated Control Launch Unit dismounted missile launchers.

The German Army currently uses both the dismounted portable Spike launcher, known as MELLS in German use, as well the as the vehicle-mounted launcher on the German Army’s Puma, Marder and Wiesel vehicles.

Spike is a multi-mission, electro-optical fire-and-forget missile. It also offers fire, observe and update capabilities, allowing attack of hidden targets.

Eurospike is a joint venture between Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, Diehl Defence and Rheinmetall Electronics.
