GDA 2017: Kuwait National Guard modernisation continues

The Kuwait National Guard is pushing forward with an extensive modernisation agenda with ground vehicles, command and control (C2) infrastructure and airborne assets at the heart of its ongoing five-year equipment plan.

Numbering over 20,000 personnel, the Kuwait National Guard is the largest military institution in the country compared with an army that numbers around 11,000. Its equipment inventory differs somewhat from the regular army and is focused on the force’s primary missions of border security as well as internal security operations.
