French prepare for new anti-tank missile
The French Army is on schedule to take delivery of its new MMP (Missile Moyenne Portée) portable anti-tank weapon by year end, French officials have confirmed.
Speaking to Shephard, Alain Prugne, director of the MMP programme at the French DGA procurement agency, said qualification tests were now complete and that delivery would likely take place around November.
The system's first operational use is slated to be the first quarter of 2018.
Qualification firings have tested the system’s anti-tank, anti-personnel and anti-structure modes of operation. Tests have demonstrated that the missile is able to lock-on after launch and strike at targets
