First batch of VN1 8x8s arrive in Thailand
Norinco has delivered 34 VN1 8x8 armoured vehicles to the Royal Thai Army (RTA), these reaching Thailand on 2 December. Afterwards, they will undergo performance testing for certification ahead of handover to the army.
These VN1s will be stationed in northern Thailand with the 10th Cavalry Battalion at Suriyaphong Camp in Nan Province, and the 7th Cavalry Battalion at Pichai Dab Hak Camp in Uttaradit. The Chinese-built vehicles will replace V-150 4x4s that have been in service for over 40 years.
