Saab has added an extended range (EF) and high explosive (HE) capability to its AT4 disposable shoulder-launched weapon.
Andreas Andersson, programme director of ground combat at Saab told Shephard that this was the first time they had integrated this capability into the AT4CS (confined space) launcher.
He said that they wanted to broaden the capabilities available on a disposable platform that are available on the reloadable Carl Gustaf system, another popular 84mm calibre system built by Saab.
Analysis by Saab showed that HE was desirable by AT4 users and this lead to the development of the new HE round. Andersson
