Eurosatory: New SF vehicle lines up

Renault Trucks Defense (RTD) has unveiled an initial design of its Vehicle Leger Forces Speciales (VLFS) or Light Special Forces Vehicle, destined for the French Special Operation Command.

Encompassing a basic scaled-down model, the VLFS ‘Concept Demonstrator’ has yet to be fully designed and manufactured, although the Special Operations Command is already contracted to purchase 241 VLFS as part of a EUR250million deal with RTD.

Speaking to Shephard Media at the event in Paris on 13th June, company officials from RTD explained that the VLFS ‘Project’ would comprise a 4x4 vehicle with gross vehicle weight of 4.3T; payload of 1.3T;
