Eurosatory: Hawkei positioned for export
Thales is introducing its Hawkei 4x4 light protected vehicle (LPV) to the export market.
The company announced the move at the Eurosatory exhibition in Paris on 18 June as progress is made with Australian Defence Force (ADF) Project Land 121 phase 4.
Ian Gethin, director of sales and marketing of protected vehicles at Thales, said: ‘A request for tender should be made sometime this week by the ADF. We are expecting a contract to be awarded in 2015.’
The vehicle was developed for the ADF requirement for 1,300 new vehicles to replace its current Land Rover fleet.
