Eurosatory 2018: Serbia starts firing trials of Aleksandar

Serbian company Yugoimport has commenced initial firing trials of their latest Aleksandar 155mm/52cal self-propelled (SP) artillery system.

This is being marketed with two 155 mm/52cal autofrettaged barrels, one with a 23l chamber that is compliant with the NATO Joint Ballistic Memorandum of Understanding (JBMOU) and the other with a larger 25l chamber.

It is based on a Russian KAMAZ 6560 (8x8) chassis that is also used for other Yugoimport artillery systems including the current production NORA-B52 155mm/52cal and the recently revealed Shumadija 400mm (4-round) modular rocket launcher.
