Eurosatory 2012: Industry goes to defence of MEADS

The industry team behind the Medium Extended Air Defense System (MEADS) remains ‘optimistic’ the project will be funded to the end of the design and development (D&D) phase and provide a ‘meaningful capability’ to the partner nations.

With the US still working through the budgetary process to approve the $400 million needed to take the D&D phase through to completion and Germany indicating it may only fund the system up to the end of development, questions linger over the future of the MEADS project.
