Elbit to supply SOTM comms to Canadian Armed Forces
Elbit Systems was selected by Rheinmetall Canada to provide satellite-on-the-move (SOTM) communications as part of its Land Command Support System Life Extension (LCSS LE) programme for the Canadian Armed Forces.
The ELSAT 2100 SATCOM system will be supplied to provide real-time broadband communications. The system uses both military and commercial satellites including the US DoD’s Global SATCOM WGS network.
Haim Delmar, Executive VP and General Manager of Elbit’s C4I & Cyber Division said: ‘We will continue to focus on developing and delivering superior networked warfare technologies to Canada and additional Five Eyes countries.’
In 2019, Rheinmetall Canada previously worked with Elbit to secure the Off board Electronic Countermeasure Payload for the Hammerhead USV in use by the Canadian Navy.
