DVD2014: UK Challenger 2 LEP upcoming
The British Army’s Challenger 2 MBT Life Extension (CR2 LEP) upgrade is expected to kick off early next year.
The Initial Gate (IG1) for the CR2 LEP is expected by 1Q of 2015 and the programme is currently in the concept phase, Col Nick Hunter, the deputy programme leader for Scout SV, told a briefing on the UK’s armoured vehicles programme (AVP) at DVD.
The AVP has completed a market survey under a Request for Information that will be used to inform the CR2 LEP procurement strategy. General Dynamics confirmed to Shephard that they had responded to the RFI.
