DSEI 2015: Bullseye for Beretta's new marksman rifle

Beretta has unveiled a new 7.62x51mm marksman rifle destined for the Italian Army at this year's DSEI in London.

The ARX-200 is currently progressing through qualification trials and deliveries are expected to begin later this year, a Beretta spokesperson told Shephard. 

Featuring an aluminium and reinforced techno polymer frame, the weapon weighs 4.5kg without its 20-round polymer magazine. The barrel is full floating and measures 16” (4cm) excluding the flash eliminator.

The rifle is a completely new build weapon and does not feature part commonality with the company's 5.56x45 mm ARX-160, currently being fielded by the Italian military as
