DSA 2018: AV8 Gempita production approaches midway
DefTech exhibited three variants of its AV8 Gempita 8x8 armoured vehicle family at the DSA 2018 exhibition in Kuala Lumpur – the ATGW, Surveillance and RCWS. The AV8 family is based on the FNSS Pars 8x8, and is being fully assembled in Malaysia.
To date, 118 of 255 vehicles in nine variants have been delivered to the Malaysian Army. Three variants are yet to be introduced: the CBRN, recovery and 120mm 2R2M mortar.
The Surveillance Vehicle (SURV) pictured above is the newest, having been introduced last November, according to the DefTech official in charge of that particular project.
