Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) debuted two new weapons for the international market at Defense & Security 2017 in Bangkok: the Tavor 7 bullpup assault rifle and the Masada pistol.

The Tavor 7’s nomenclature stems from the fact that it is of 7.62x51mm calibre, compared to the more usual 5.56mm of the Tavor family. The new weapon will be available in the first quarter of 2018.

A member of IWI said one of its main advantages is that it is based on a known platform, but with a longer range and more stopping power out to a range of 600m.
