Denmark has selected the Piranha 5 armoured Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) as the new Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) of the Danish armed forces, General Dynamics announced on 7 May. General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) was notified of the selection through its Switzerland-based subsidiary GDELS-Mowag.
According to the company, the contract for programme will include the acquisition of at least 206 Piranha IFVs. The exact number will be determined at a later date.

'GDELS looks forward to a close and cooperative relationship with the Danish Ministry of Defense in their selection of a new generation of armoured vehicles.'
