DefExpo 2012: Russian displays T-90S Modernised tank
The prototype of the T-90S Modernised main battle tank was displayed by JSC Research and Production Corporation Uralvagonavod at DefExpo 2012. It is the first time the tank has been shown outside of Russia since it was unveiled at the Russian Arms Expo 2011 last September.
India is the major customer for the T-90; an initial contract for 310 T-90S tanks was signed in 2001 of which 120 were delivered complete, 90 in semi-knocked down kits form, and 100 in completely knocked down kits. In October 2006 the Ministry of Defence ordered 330 improved T-90M Bhishma models which were developed
