Cobham wins $5.7m composite components contract for Javelin weapon systems

Cobham Analytic Solutions has received a follow on production contract valued at $5.7 million from Raytheon/Lockheed Martin Javelin Joint Venture in support of the Javelin program. Cobham will provide additional lightweight composite missile components for the Javelin weapon system which has been in production at Cobham's San Diego, CA facility since the early 1990's. Deliveries on this latest contract run through September 2011.

Javelin is a one man portable and employable - fire and forget- medium range, close combat assault weapon system. The Javelin has been combat proven most recently in Afghanistan and Iraq by US and allied soldiers. This contract will support both US and other foreign customer (s) requirements for the Javelin weapon system. Javelin was developed and is built by a joint venture formed by Raytheon and Lockheed Martin.

"This contract award reflects our continuing successful relationship with the Javelin Joint Venture in providing world class advanced composite structural components for use in missile components and systems."
